STEP is designed to develop the Rank & File, Supervisors, Assistant Managers and Managers of Shaza Hotels. It ensures that skills, abilities, and knowledge are constantly being improved for fellow Colleagues to reach to the next level in the responsibility of their respective departments. It focuses on the development of effective people skills and essential management or responsibility functions.
STEP can initiate positive changes to the hotel’s performance. After the completion of the training or the application of a plan, a Shaza Colleague is more accomplished in their roles and responsibilities. Enhancing knowledge and skills are fundamental to improving the productivity and efficiency of our brand. Shaza energizers play a vital role in determining the participants of the STEP.
Communication builds transparency which in turn enhances trust. A meaningful, consistent, fair and open dialogue or communication is therefore the bedrock of colleague engagement. Engaged colleagues are motivated to produce and provide guest satisfaction. The dialogue should be “Energizing”, hence the name.
All Shaza colleagues should go through an Energizer session at least twice a year, end June and end December. The aim of having such frequents Energizer sessions is for the employee to feel that Shaza recognizes the employees’ work and aptitudes. It is important for the colleague to understand where he/she stands concerning the expectations of his/her supervisor, his/her colleagues and team members. The aim is to transmit the energy and the will to the employee in order to perform better. After each Shaza Energizer, concrete actions are taken.
A follow-up is given within 1 month to the energized colleagues.
