AL MASJID AN NABAWI
The Prophet’s Mosque, built by Prophet Muhammad in Medina, is the second holiest site in Islam after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. It was the second mosque established by the Prophet, after Quba Mosque.
MASJID QUBA
Located on the outskirts of Medina, Masjid Quba is the first mosque built in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad laid its foundation upon arriving in Medina from Mecca, and it was completed by his companions.
MOUNT UHUD
North of Medina, Mount Uhud is the site of the Battle of Uhud, fought in 625 CE between the Muslims of Medina and the Quraysh of Mecca. The mountain stands at 1,077 meters.
MASJID AL QIBLATAYN
Also known as the Mosque of the Two Qiblas, this mosque marks the location where Muslims believe the Qibla was divinely changed from Jerusalem to Mecca during prayer.
THE SEVEN MOSQUES
The mosque is one of the few mosques in the world to have contained two mihrabs (niches indicating the qibla) in different directions.
